For more than a century, MSD has been inventing medicines and vaccines
for many of the world's most challenging diseases. We have always been and always will be
inventing, and we do it for the single greatest purpose: Life.

WHY WE INVENT

What is invention? Is it the latest gadget? The greatest phone?
For us, it's so much more.

It's the vaccine that helps provide a healthy future. It's the medicine that saves lives.
It's an open door with new possibilities on the other side.

It's a more hopeful future for all.

MEANING OF INVENTION

In a recent survey, we found that people don't associate medicine or vaccines with invention.

So we took to the streets to ask what invention people can't wait for. Most talked about robots, flying cars, and teleporters. One woman had a very different take on invention.

INVENTIONS WITH IMPACT

Few people, only 5%, said medicine when asked what inventions have had the greatest impact on society.
